Working primarily with organic material, but manipulating natural processes to birth his creations, it comes as little surprise that Berlin-based designer Lukas Wegwerth is a master of tension. Exploring the tension between growth and intervention, sensitivity and aggression, expected change and uncontrolled repair, Wegwerth’s Crystallization Collection evokes an otherworldly decadence. Vaguely scientific and immediately magical; they are indeed a thing to behold.
