Onassis Cultural Centre, Athens, Greece
A two-day festival to celebrate the launch of the Hello Future! Talents’ Archive Sketchbook Project.
Double Decker devised the festival to create excitement around the launch of the Archive Sketchbook Project. We curated a stimulating variety of workshops and activities designed to appeal to all audiences. Whether you were a student or new professional getting career advice; someone trying screen-printing, animation, paper sculpture, furniture up-cycling or life drawing for the first time; or just wanting to find out where art is going by leafing through the sketchbooks; the festival ensured that every visitor left more excited about art and design.
Career advice with Nicola Schwartz
Nicola Schwartz, Founder and Creative Director of artist agency and publication house POCKO, based in London, Milan and, Los Angeles, offered design students one-to-one portfolio reviews and careers advice.
Workshop with TIND: The Future is Yet To Be Printed
The making of personalised screen-printed accessories.
Double Decker invited TIND to lead an educational future-themed screen-printing session for all ages. Participants took away tote bags and posters they had screen-printed themselves following a live demonstration of the process.
Workshop: Illustrated Objects
Three illustrators of renown, Costas Theoharis, Stefanos Andreadis and Laios Papazoglou, showed how to reinvent a plain piece of furniture in a fun and inspirational demonstration of creative up cycling. Three lucky visitors won the re-imagined pieces in a prize draw.
Animation workshop with Babis Alexiadis: The Future is Here
Alexiadis challenged participants of all ages to make a film in a day through learning and applying traditional animation techniques (with a twist involving a record player and marker pens).
Workshop with Marietta Kallona: Paper Projects!
Combining origami and illustration, kids created their own 3D paper toys.
Workshop with Marigo Kassi: Drawing from life
Participants of all ages and levels of experience were invited to join art professor Marigo Kassi in a life drawing class for the 21st century, with props, music and the far-from-standard poses by dancer Angeliki Tsoupra inspiring some post-modern mark-making.
