We collaborated with Conran + Partners to curate an artwork collection for Blake Tower, a luxury apartment building in Barbican, that draws on the area’s storied past and architectural significance.
Concept
Named after former Barbican resident William Blake, the Grade II-listed building is the epitome of mid-century Brutalist architecture and one of four residential towers designed by celebrated architects Chamberlin, Powell and Bon. We were inspired by the building’s concrete sculptural lines, and hammered and brushed texture. The primarily abstract collection demonstrates a concern for shape and geometry, while also featuring an understated but consistent pastel colour story.
