Bruno Romanelli

The involved process and fascinating ‘lost wax casting’ technique of London based Bruno Romanelli has captured us. Romanelli’s creations can be described as solid icy sphere and disc like sculptures, almost other worldly. They are strict yet sensitive. His forms somehow bond the hard cold surface of ice with gentle curves and warmth, accompanied by vivid gel like colours. Celebrating light, colour, balance and symmetry, Romanelli can sometimes spend several months creating wax casts – his most notable work must surely be the glass BAFTA trophy.
