The curator Riya Patel’s most recent exhibition is the opposite of superficial. It zooms in to explore structures and connections in design. An international selection of emerging and established designers shares innovative methods of joining elements as well as exposing underlying constructions. The presented objects illustrate how “joints + bones” can exceed their function and determine the aesthetical character of a piece of design. The show is an appreciation of process and material: What is normally over-looked or deliberately hidden is taken into the spotlight.
