Vacant and vibrant, Katherine Newbegin’s photographs of derelict hotels and cinemas – from Eastern Europe to East Asia – are tethers to a displaced time and suspended relationships. Spending several days in deep isolation in each space, her results are the curious fruit of both critical experimentation and masterful story making.
