Mia Göransson

She is one of Scandinavia’s most acclaimed ceramists but succeeded to keep her playful approach. Her studio resembles a laboratory for shapes and materials, housing a broad variety of cylinders, cubes and cones made of porcelain, clay or metal. Among these geometric objects some pieces stick out: rocks, leaves and branches that were casted in clay of the same colour. As a result, Mia’s designs are fun to look at as well as thought-provoking. We cannot quite figure out what they depict but feel invited to follow her example and make our own ambiguous arrangements.
